Easter, Christmas & Short Breaks
Easter and Christmas especially offer valuable spaces in your working life to able to take a break. Why stay at home? There’s always something to see and do in the Vezere Valley in the Dordogne - you can take a short break at any time!
We can arrange a break to suit you at Les Rosiers - this is an example of a 6 day short break, perhaps at Easter or Christmas?
Day 1: Arrive, settle in and enjoy an evening meal at Les Rosiers, a glass of wine and an informal introductory talk to the area and your holiday.
Day 2: Visit to Lascaux II - the incredible replica of the world famous painted caves. We’ll have lunch at Les Rosiers today. In the afternoon we’ll explore Les Eyzies and the National Museum of Prehistory with its unrivalled collections. You’ll see hand axes, scrapers and blades of all sorts - want to get ‘hands on’? Later, we’ll get the handling collection out - there’s nothing quite like actually feeling these stone tools. Imagine being back 20,000 years.......
Day 3: We visit Sarlat Medieval Town which also boasts one of the largest markets in Perigord. Lunch? We’ll be spoilt for choice! In the afternoon we visit the Salamander Distillery and Castelnaud, a charming medieval village with an imposing castle. The views of Beynac and the Dordogne are stunning!
Day 4: Sunday lunch in France can’t be missed! A leisurely morning (there’s lots of options!) followed by a gastronomic treat at a local restaurant. Afterwards a ‘promenade digestive’ will take in local scenes and sites.
Day 5: Visits to Font de Gaume - the best Ice Age painted caves still open to the public - and Les Combarelles, famous for its wall carvings.
Day 6: After breakfast, the break is over - but extra nights can usually be booked.
This is only an example - the break can be longer or shorter,
and will be planned to suit you
